    Default 6.2 Raptor impeller

Is there a write up on here on how to change the impeller on a 6.2 Raptor? I'm sure it's not hard but any tips to make it easier are encouraged.

Also what oil and filter are you using? Volume?

    Impeller is easy.

Raw water pump is located at center of crankshaft.

Remove four screws grab rubber impeller with pliers and wiggle to remove. Lubricate housing with WD40 and reinstall, kit comes with new gasket. Take a picture before you remove impeller to get rubber vane orientation correct.

As far as oil and filter. I personally run Castrol Edge 5W30 synthetic and a wix 57186XP or Mann 719/8x filter.
    Capacity is 8 qts.

This is very usefull, I have been thinking about doing this. My impeller is coming on 5 yrs now, still works, but I heard it should be replaced every 2 yrs or so. That diagram is very helpful, thanks.
WHere did u find that diagram, is this downloadable from SC website?

One additional thing, remove the engine access panel from surf locker, the pump is right behind it. Some boats you can reach it, but So much easier with access panel removed.

5 years is asking for trouble. I would replace that ASAP.

It is a bit confusing described in the maintenance schedule. But inspect every 100 hours, replace every 300 hours or if greater than 300 hours per season, do it annually. All that said, I replaced mine at 75 hours or 2 seasons. Cheap and easy. If I am taking the time to inspect it, I am replacing it.

It’s all located in your owners manual. Or you can find it on Indmar’s website.

And for ballast pumps, the same - every other year.

Check out the bottom left. A few of the others had a split.

Wow. The longest I went was three years. I'd inspect it when I winterized the boat. When I saw cracking or pieces missing I'd replace it in the spring. I'd also carried a spare in case my hypothesis was incorrect.
