    Default 2020 Kaiyen options?

Thinking of getting a 2020 Kaiyen and wondering what available options you all think are important to consider? Boat will be used mainly for adult wake surfing and kid and adult wakeboarding. We live in Western Oregon. Thanks for any and all advice.

I moved from a 2017 Mondo to a 2020 Kaiyen this year. My boat stays on a lift from spring to fall at my cottage in Ontario Canada so we are not trailering or spending the day on the boat, so my environment & activities may differ from yours. We use the boat for roughly 60% surfing 35% cruising and 5% wakeboard/wakeskating (with little ballast). Below are my options and why I chose them based on what the Mondo did/didn't have and my conversations with Matt Brown:

    - Surf/Speed Prop (suggest the General Use prop for you based on the amount wakeboarding)
    - Flow 3 (Matt mentioned the Flow 2 works great and can be upgrade to the Flow 3, but the Flow 3 that much more advanced)
    - AutoWake for sure... it's awesome
    - Zero Off Cruise (had the paddle wheel on my Mondo and was not happy with it)
    - GatorStep w/ deck kit (protects the gunnels when getting in and out)
    - Triton Racks w/ swivel (had standard swivel racks prior and some of our boards would not fit)
    - Bimini (a must)
    - Depth Finder (a must)
    - Dual batteries w/charger
    - Premium Wet Sounds Package (sub & bow speakers at a minimum)
    - PTM Extended Mirror (not on listed on the configurator)
    - Underwater Lights

Options I had on my Mondo, but didn't opt for on my Kaiyen:
    - Walk Thru Screen (if it was that cold, we didn't go out in the boat)
    - Removable Seat Back (used it twice... pain in the a$$ to climb around on the seats to get to the back)

Other options you might want to consider based on your activities:
    - Surf Pipe
    - Underwater & Docking lights (night cruises?)
    - Adjustable seat base (height of drivers?)
    - Transom Remote (swimming while the boat is moored?)

Hopefully this will help you with you decision.

Kaiyen Ken, , had a great list, building off of his...

I would definitely opt for the surf pipe based on described use and for the simple fact that it makes a factory stereo have sound much more awesome.

If it's not living on a lift and will be trailered around, transom steps are a must have.

I agree with RC... the surf pipe would be a must if you are able to have long surf runs. I am limited to a 4 to 5 minute run (no cottages in the area we surf) due to the size of our lake and the exhaust does not become a nuisance within that amount of time, but yes, the stereo would definitely sound better.

Yes... should have thought twice before choosing my screen name... and Kaiyen Ken does sound better... I'm stuck with it now...

Congrats RC on your newest surfer addition to your family!

Good options suggested above. For that money I’d be looking hard at leftover inventory SR and SA as well.

Agree 100% with Matt...for the money you will have in the Kaiyen you could get a gentle used 2019 SR or SA.

For comparison, up here in Ontario Canada, a new leftover 2019 SA is listed $49,500 more than what i purchased my Kaiyen for and a new leftover 2019 SR was $30,800 more.

I do believe I did get a good deal on my Kaiyen and the Supra's mentioned are 'list' pricing, but it's still a steep jump from a Moomba to a Supra here.
