Thread: Key Replacement

    Default Key Replacement

I bought a 2016 Moomba Monda used. It only has one ignition key. I would like to get a spare but can't find anything about this key on line. the logo on the key appears to say "CH". If anyone has any ideas, I would appreciate it. Thanks.

I would guess nothing has changed from a few years ago. looks like best bet is a new ignition switch. they are pretty straightforward to swap out.

again these are pretty old posts so maybe something has changed but doesn't look like it.

Should be a common key blank that is easy to duplicate.

Swapping out the ignition in my 2012 was a $20 part and a 5 minute job. Just FYI.

I found out that it is not a common key blank, there's a numeric code on the ignition I believe. Give that code to the dealer and they should have the key on hand.

I got my for 10 from the local key master near my house
my point - you do not need to go to officials to get the spare key

The CH key is the most common for RV and travel trailer locks. Check with an RV service center if your local locksmith doesn’t have one.

Interesting note that I found out while shopping for our travel trailer is that the companies (keystone, etc. ) only use one key template for most of their builds. The CH 704 key is the most common, and companies will only use one cut. If you have a CH 704 key from a similar manufacturer, you can open doors on similar model years.

So, changing an ignition might raise to higher priority now.

Same with Caterpillar equipment, literally all of them have the same key.
