Default 2019 Moomba Mojo Autowake settings/making a big wave Help

    Hello,

Very first wake boat have ever owned and having issues making a large wave. Have tried to set up multiple appointments with the dealer we bought it from and they never call back or when a date is set up they just don't show up at the lake so I'm reaching out on here hoping some of you more experienced guys can help us out.

From the attached pictures you can see that while using the Autowake feature we can never get the "Potential/Actual" wave size anything else other than at the bottom of the small wave scale which causes us to have to surf extremely close (max 2 ft away) from the boat in order to stay in the Push. Watched all the videos on Youtube that Moomba put out along with other ones pertaining to this issue, but still can't fix it.

Do we just not have enough people/weight in the boat?
Can a Moomba Mojo make a big wave with the stock ballast bags?

    Details:
    - 2019 Moomba Mojo
    - About 24 hrs on the boat now.
    - Combined weight of people usually sitting in the boat: 500lbs
    - Even in manual mode with all ballast filled up to 100% we must surf within inches to 2 feet from the Swim Platform as the wave never has enough push to keep a rider going further away from the boat.
    - Always bleed ballast bags of air while filling to insure they are completely filled with water.
    - Typical Riders/Board sizes:
    1) 180lb guy riding a 5' Liquid Force Rocket board, also will use 5'4" Hyperlite Brodcast board. No changes in Wave Push
    2) 265lb guy riding a 5'4" Hyperlite Broadcast board (must surf within 1ft of the Swim Platform)
    - Will run the boat speed from 10.2mph-11mph and don't really notice any difference in wave push.

Thanks in advance for any help/advice.

Can you post pics of the wave? Someone will chime in that is familar with the Mojo, but I can tell you every Moomba really needs additional weight for an ideal wave.

Ditto on what DNIX said. First off, welcome to the forum. You started with the a pretty awesome boat for your first boat!
There are tons of great info here on how to dial in wave on the Mojo. Suggest you enter a search term for "surf wave" or "dial in surf wave". Much of the info will apply to all Moomba lines. Take some time to read through. Its actually pretty interesting read and you'll learn about more than just dialing the wave. Tow boats are very unique in handling and maintenance. Take the time to learn as much as you can about that Mojo. Once you get her right, she'll put out an awesome wave. You have a lot of fun ahead of you. But just to start you off, that boat will need a lot more weight. 4K lbs minimum total ballast, and don't worry, that's pretty standard around here.
Also post some pics. We love to gawk at boats. This is a great community with lots of people willing to help. If you still have questions or need clarifications, post them, you'll have dozens of replies.
Happy reading and enjoy that awesome boat!. Post pics!

I would agree that 500# of lead or 3 additional crew will help any boats wave.

    Lead is cheaper than friends.

What everyone is saying about extra weight is true, it’s true of all wake boats. I have a 2020 Mojo with 3000lbs of stock ballast. Could surf it stock but just barely. I have now added an additional 1,700 lbs with a combination of Fatsacs and lead and my boat is a surf beast. Add 60% of your additional weight in the rear lockers and 40% in the bow. 65 surf tab when surfing regular and 80% surf tab goofy. I usually do about 25% wake plate for bigger riders and 35-40% for smaller riders at about 12 mph. Start there and you will be completely stoked Kijiji with the beautiful boat you purchased!!
