    Default Props

Looking for a good prop for surfing I only have 2500lbs of ballast and I have a 15x12.5 right now a 2775 I believe. Kinda sounds like overkill for not having a lot of weight. I’ve been looking at the acme 1433 but hearing good and bad things about it.

You could probably go to the ACME 1235 and be really happy, as well as a 15x13 or 15x14....if you decide to sell the 15x12.5, I could put it to use on my boat.

Thanks I’ll probably try and get it fixed and keep it as my spare!

Right on, I would get something bigger than the 1433..maybe find someone selling their stock OJ 14.25x14.5, but the ACME 1235 would perform very well on your boat.

OJ props aren't crappy, it just wasn't the right prop for your application.

respectfully disagree on this. there are a lot of documented cases on here on the older supra/moomba rides that were using oj props and getting a growl. I had it with the stock oj prop on my supra. it all went away with acme. dozens of members on here back in the late 00's had the same issue.

granted one could point back that it was not the right prop for the boat but interesting that it was across several boat hulls and all went away when they switched to acme.

I'll change my stance: oj was not the right choice for older skiers boats and left a bad taste that personally would not recommend them to anyone

That's your choice to not like them. I know Eric personally and he does a phenomenal job. Their designs have come a long way and they've been great on our Mojo and now SA. But to each their own. That's why there are different companies.

I have my stock 14.5x14.25 that I would trade with you for your 15x12.5.

Let me know. Send me a PM.

Depends on your boat. Have you considered a 15.5” or 16” diameter prop? I don’t know your prop clearance, but going bigger could be the best of both worlds.
My 2775 works great on my SL, but too end sucks. I still want to go up in size.
