the only difference in the 400 and 450 is tuning. has to be a lot of performance left on the table to pick up that kind of gain with no change in fuel requirements or parts. too bad the ecu is locked down.
in the automotive world someone would have already figured out how to crack it but not enough demand in the boat world.

    Default Octane for 450

I think the 400 and 440 are identical except for tune.

The interesting thing is the 440 gains 48hp and 23 ft.lbs over the 400 both on 89 octane. This tells me the 400 is tuned extremely conservative and longevity must be insane on such a mild tune.

The 450/460 might have a different cam selection plus the 93 octane tuning. But at 12hp and 25 ftlbs greater than the 440, that is not hard to gain tuning for 93 octane.

    400: 350hp/404tq 89 octane tune
    440: 398hp/427tq 89 octane tune
    460: 410hp/452tq 93 octane tune

Wow, an octane booster thread that's not loaded with the usual "just run 93 in it" comments.
"Supposedly" the Boostane booster doesn't settle out after sitting some unspecified time in the tank. There has been some discussion about some octane boosters settling out over time and therefore being a poor choice for boats, that can go unused for a week easily. Torco is suspected to be one such that settles out. I have no idea if the Lucas Oil one does or not. I do know that Boostane has been tested against race fuels by tuning schools and run in Hellcats on race days, etc... the videos are all over youtube and easily found.

Good point on phase separation, once you start the boat, wiggle the boat side to side to shake it up.

So if you were going to go with the BOOSTane would you go with the Marine version or the Premium Automotive version? We have a week coming up on Broken Bow lake in Oklahoma and the marina only sells 89 octane. I have to pull the boat out of the slip and trailer it up to the gas station just to fill up with 91 octane. It would be a lot easier to just run the marina gas and treat with BOOSTane just need to know which one to use as I am new to octane boosters. Also how much would you add to treat 73 gallons of gasoline?

    Mixing chart here. https://boostane.com/about-boostane/...-mixing-chart/

Using Marine or Professional: Starting with 89 and trying to end up with 93 would be using the .26 ounce per gallon line, or ~19 ounces for 73 gallons. Trying to end up with 91 would use the .13 ounce per gallon line, or ~9.5 ounces for 73 gallon.

They also have a Boostane app that auto calculates how much you need to add, how much the total cost is including the lower octane fuel you are adding this to.

To treat 72 gallons from 89 octane to 93 octane would be .58 of a bottle which can be purchased for $30.00 on Amazon prime.

I am going to get 2 bottles and give it a shot and see how it goes.
