oh i am so down. normally in oklahoma we may get get a tiny bit of snow every now and then. this year we have received 12 inches of snow followed by 5 inches of ice (3 weeks ago) and they are calling for 2-5 inches of snow today.
i guess to look at the bright side is hopefully it will help fill our lakes up. the one i currently go to along with another moomba brother, seth, is down 12 feet.

Hey Qube -
I've some friends who moved back to Grove and bought a big house on Grand Lake with a guest house and a nice dock. It is amazing how much farther the housing dollar goes in OK then in the west. We're thinking of going for a week this summer. Do you spend much time on Grand? When would be the best time to go (least humidity and bugs?)
Have you had any damage or major outaes from the ice storms?
Pray for summer!!!

Come to Florida. I'll take anyone on this board out for a ride. The air temps are still 75+ and water temps are 66 or so.

Blue, you need to come to Northern Nevada and hang with us for a while. The lakes are filled by melting snowpack, so in late May the lake temp is about 60F. The water actually feels warm though when the air temp is 25F, like in the pictures.
On a typical early summer day we will go out and ski with the fishermen at 6-7am. At that time of day the temp is usually in the high 30s to low 40s. The biggest problem is that when your hands get to cold they stiffen up and you can't release in your turns.
Later in the day the sun warms up the top 5 ft and as summer wears on the lake stays warmer.
I've thought of moving to FL but I hate humidity, and I would miss my family (they're not leaving.)
For now I will try to maintain my layer of thermal protection with beer and Krispy Kreme.

I have a insurance agency and so far I have had about 24 claims between auto and homes. At one point during the ice storm there were over 100K people without power. knock on wood never lost mine
