Default Best prop for wake surfing?

got the ballast ordered now looking for props

1.) How much of a difference is it in upgrading props
2.) Is it necessary to upgrade the prop when adding lots of weight
3.) what is the best prop for a moomba mojo

    Thanks!

I found this to be spot on... I’m at high altitude so had to compensate accordingly.

Default Best prop for wake surfing?

If you add tons of weight; yes it is in your boat engine and trans best interest to get a lower pitch prop. All the serious wakesurefers do it. The 2419 recommended for the Mojo is a great prop for all elevations.

It will lower the stress on the engine, reduce fuel consumption and give you a better hole shot. You will lose top end speed but these are not speed boats, they are tow boats.

    Yep, 2775 or 2419. If you’re running the 400
    Overkill is underrated

last 3 boats I have used the 1235 and loved it. difference on the first boat was night and day so spec'ed second boat with that prop during the build and got lucky that my current whip came with it already as the main prop(had 3 and the 1235 was the best choice heavily weighted with the other 2 as spares).
it's not a listed prop on any of the guides but know that a lot on here have it and is a pretty regular go-to prop.

all my personal opinion but my supra came with an OJ from the factory and it was garbage. lots of posts back in the day on "growling" with their props and switching from oj to acme made it go away for everyone. that has kept me far far away from anything oj. your results may vary

you might reach out to nettleprops and MLA as well as wm. nettle has sold a lot of props on here and MLA has suggested a lot of good props as well.
it'll be some of the best coin you spend for your ride.

The 1235 was the standard on my 2017 Craz, it was struggling when I upped the rear ballast from stock 650’s to 1100’s, so I swapped it out for a 945 and it was a massive improvement.

interesting. I have it on my current 23.9ft boat and front ballast/rear enzo filled it has no issues.
granted have not filled up both sides as we do zero wakeboarding but surfing with 1600lbs water/400lead and front 800(iirc) it does fine.

My 2017 Mondo came with a OJ 945 and i like it. I run 3600 lbs of water with 500 lbs of lead...and surfing at 11mph...I am at about 3300rpm.

It is a great combo...I just picked up a 1235 as a spare for a great deal.

I had the 1235 on our Mojo running 4200 pounds plus people surfing, it did great. Wakeboarded around 3500 pounds, did really well. Rpms never were crazy and had a great empty cruising speed. The New SA came with an OJ 950 (15x13), it was overkill for us and the rpms were really high wakeboading, swapped to the new 951 (15x14) and couldn't be happier. Surf and board rpms are down around 300-400 and cruising speed is pretty decent again.
