General pricing question
I’m buying my first boat and just want to make sure I’m not getting taken since I have no frame of reference for negotiating a boat purchase. I have a deposit down on a 2019 max, pending on water test drive. Msrp is a bit over 95k. Dealer has “best price” at 8.5% less than msrp around 86,500. I don’t care if I’m getting the best deal possible, I just want to be sure I’m not getting fleeced. Does this price sound about right? Thanks for the help.

Sounds about right.
Discounts can also depend how many options are on it.
Also depends where in the country you are buying from. Some dealers discount more than others on MSRP.

That seems high to me. Prices I've been quoted are about $10k less, basically anything in the mid to high 70's but that's with the 400 engine. Do you have every option ticked or going with the 450 engine?

If 86.5k is what they offered then they can do better. Offer a couple % less and negotiate. Or get a commitment to cover your 20hr service at least.

19 Max? Did you order every single upgrade including the 450 engine? That's the only way it comes close to 95k on MRSP.

General pricing question
From the orig post, it does not sound like a custom order. It was a dealer boat.
The post did not say what options are included for 85k or where the dealer is located.
Just if mid-80s is a good price.

The 450 is a $7150 option, so it’s pretty easy extrapolate the equivalent to a max with a 400.

From what people are saying online, the 400 and the MAX are a good combo.
If it were the Makai, I would want the bigger motor. I assume this boat is 500-1000k heavier, plus more room to fit more people.
