Would be difficult to do a DIY cheaper than either the MD or Nauticurl, great price on the NC right now at $195

This thread has a lot of information about building your own suck gate. I am the least “handy” person I know and was able to make one myself that works very well. There are several other threads about building your own as well.

Think I spent $40, check the thread pretty basic diy

I spent $8 on a HF suction handle, maybe $3 on some SS hardware. I happened to have the HDPE laying around. But still, I'd be less than $25 all in if I bought the HDPE.
