The M400/4 is capable of 75W rms to 4 speakers. Honestly, id like to double that for 7.7 tower speaker. So, no where near over powering the 7.7.

Worth noting though, the HX series was a power sports amp, so well suited for the marine life.

I think the tower pods are driven by the DXA250.4, so moving them to the M400/4 will be a 2X increase in wattage.

Moving the in-boats and woofer to the M700/5 will be the same wattage/output for the them as they are currently supplied.

Better to overpower than to underpower in my opinion.

Just trying to stick within JL’s recommended amp output for the speakers I have, I can always turn down the gain if I have an amp that can overpower the speakers!

Best to keep gain as low as possible for me. The more gain, the more interference/noise.
