Replacing sprinkler valves on GIII system
Hello everyone,
I am interested in replacing the valves on my old GIII system from the sprinkler valves to something that could cut down fill time. I have been hearing of people replacing the valves with electric 12v valves. Would this reduce the fill time? Has anyone done this upgrade; if so, what was the process like?2006 Mobius LSV

Going with reversibles will significantly cut your fill times. Wakemakers has a great kit... easy for me to say when I’m spending your money...
Hoping others will chime in, the electric ball valves are an upgrade but I don’t think they reduce fill times without adding addl pumps.2007 LSV

Here are 3 threads that talk extensively about replacing the sprinkler valves with motorized ball valves. I did this to my 07 and have been happy with the results. I think it decreased my fill times but only slightly. As Leebo said, going reversible is the best way to go but I didn’t want to spend 1k, drill holes into my boat, or have to worry about the electrical part of it as reversible pumps require more juice and therefore some rewiring.

I did the Wakemakers reversible system years ago and never looked back. That was a 2007 Supra.
New bags and three pumps at the same time.
The next year I replaced the old platform w/ a surf platform.
Costs a few bucks, but worth it to me.

I found my motorized ball valves on amazon and swapped out my sprinkler valves. As stated above, it only slightly cut down my fill time. It was an easy upgrade and they have been working flawlessly.

Although the cheap sprinkler valves are a restriction, they are not the only draw back to this design. Sac/tanks fittings, hose size, etc are restrictions as well. Any way you are slicing it, you are using a single pump to fill multiple sacs/tanks.
If I was going to spend a dime, id make a better investment and ditch the valves and single pump setup for dedicated fill pumps for each sac/tank.
