Anybody else find different plugs in your engine when you replaced them? My top plugs were a CYFS-12-NPG and the bottom plugs were a CYFS-12-F. I replaced them all with the manual specified SP-526 (CYFS-12-FP).

I jumped on a raptor truck forum and the mixing of upper and lower plugs seems common from Ford.

No reason behind it, not sure the difference from the f and npg, but if Ford does it from the factory it’s fine.

It has always ran great. Just seems odd that if they came with two different plugs that you wouldn’t replace with two different plugs.

russellsmojo….I didn’t replace the plug wires. I figured I may do that at 600 hrs.

I wouldn’t not replace with 2 separate plugs.

The ones you bought are correct

Yep, I found this too. Replaced all 16 with SP-526 (CYFS-12-FP) and put 100 hours on it this season. I did notice an improvement in idle when I made the change.

I also kicked and cussed and and contorted my way in to change the fuel filter @ 300 hours. Not worth it. I cut the used filter apart and it barely does any filtering. Unless you suspect it's clogged, it's not worth the effort to change it - which requires loosening the starboard (drivers) side Cat and risking the V-band exhaust gasket.

Both good to know. I took the boat out last night and it ran just fine. I could not tell a difference at all. Fuel filter was next on my list….

Mine had different plugs top and bottom too. I’ve seen many have had this.

Fuel filter wasn’t too bad if you take the quick disconnect off on the top and down by the fuel pump and then snake it out. Definitely no loosening of cats or whatever else was described. By snaking it out it only was a one beer job. Interesting to hear about cutting it and it not being much of a filter.

Doing this job in 2 weeks as part of my year-end service and winterization.

Any reason to upgrade to Iridium over the 2x platinum from Motorcraft?
I can get both locally and price for NGK Iridium is $1 more. Worth it?

For $16 more sure. Iridiums will last longer, won’t get you anything more than longer service life.

Question is, will you go more than 300 hours if you install iridium’s?
