oil change drain hose
I have a 2017 helix and I'm wondering what's the best option to drain the oil, pump it out thru the dipstick or access the drain tube. So my question is where is the drain tube located and how do I access it? Thanks appreciate it

The drain tube should be attached to the top right-hand side of the head with a large oval shaped stainless steel ring

Thanks Stazi you think much best bet is to pull it off the lift run the hose thru the drain plug and pump thru that drain hose or suck the oil thru the dipstick with a pump?

I've used Ford motor craft 5w 30 just like the manual says every time now I'm at 350 hours and I feel like I want to switch to a full synthetic like mobile 1.
Anyone have an opinion?

Just did my 1st oil change using quick drain hose.
Could not get pan to drain until cranking the trailer jack up as high as possible.
Took a couple of hours to drain all 8 quarts but otherwise a piece of cake.2017 Moomba Craz

Full synthetic is ideal. Especially for heavily loaded engines like boat motors.

The great oil debate.
All full synthetics are not created equal.
I am not a fan of Dexos 1 rated oils at all because they limit to low levels of ZDDP to prevent contamination to catalytic converters.
I am also not of fan of extremely high levels of ZDDP.
That said Mobil 1 dexos 1 is appx 650ppm of ZDDP (Mobil 1 is constantly changing this level also, it’s a moving target), which is ok for a low lift stock camshaft engine like a Raptor.
I much prefer 800-1100ppm levels such as Amsoil or Redline.
For a 5W30, Amsoil signature series 5w30 is 900ppm. I use this in my boat and daily drivers that are stock.
Not that anyone here is installing a higher lift camshaft but if they did, I would step it up to amsoil 5W30 diesel series 3000 at 1100 ppm ZDDP.

I use the drain hose.... when I first bought mine I read a lot of people were getting their suction hose stuck inside the dipstick tube... also I never felt like sucking oil out through the dipstick would get as much of the old oil out as using the proper drain hose.
Here is my set up.... a 1/4” quick release male air hose adapter screws perfectly onto that drain hose and my oil extractor hose fits perfectly over that adapter... pretty slick set up.
