Board manufacturers need to use better epoxy, it’s not rocket science.

A board SHOULD survive in a board rack. I understand that some boards are made offshore and use questionable resins with probably very little quality control.

A surf board isn't designed to be stored in the rack, especially a custom one. They are made to surf and be light as possible. Cheaper boards are heavier and can stand up to being in a rack all day but suck surf wise. You don't have this issue with skim boards, at least not with phase 5, they're made like a tank but have less foam inside. Surf style boards are fragile.

I admit I am new to boards and have MUCH to learn. I understand that being lighter is better, however, UV stable high temp resins should not add mass or rigidity.

Possibly a board maker could educate us on the reasons certain automotive grade (-40C to +85C) exterior epoxies are not used.

I appreciate the OP, I would never have known boards melt.

    Thank You!!!

You are looking at it wrong - it’s not that surfboards aren’t for board racks it’s that board racks aren’t for surfboards.

Surf boards - real boards - are designed to maximize performance and to surf. They are not intended to go on board racks or Bimini tops on a boat. Board racks are a wakeboard thing not a surfboard thing. Round peg in a square hole.

Keep them in the shade or in the water - the boards will thank you.

Thanks for that, hence why Supra has a surf locker.

Wake boards in board rack, surf boards in surf locker or a board bag.

    Making sense now.

Where are you finding them for $30? The cheapest I have found is $38 on Wakemakers.
