Default Question - best surf wave for the money?

All - I've been perusing the forums, and all the advice has been really helpful during my search. Ultimately I figured I would post my specific question: What's the best surf wave for a used Moomba? I'm hoping to spend ~$50K or less (if possible!).

    Is there a certain year I shouldn't go past based on surf-technology (i.e. - 2012? 2014?)
Is the mondo/mojo/mobius the best model for surfing, and year doesn't matter?
Here are a few of the options I'm currently considering:
    -- 2012 Moomba Mojo 2.5 ($38K - hrs TBD)
    -- 2012 Moomba Mojo 2.5 ($43K - 335 hrs)
    -- 2013 Moomba Mojo 2.5 ($47K - 316 hrs)

    -- 2013 Moomba Mobius LSV ($46K - 'low' hrs)
    -- 2014 Moomba Mobius LSV ($48K - 540 hrs)

I'm on a big lake with a main channel that gets pretty choppy on weekends, so I think a 20' boat is too small, but if the wave and other factors make it worth looking into, please let me know.

Lastly, I really don't plan on doing much wakeboarding behind it, so I'm specifically focused on surfing. I'm goofy foot, but most of my friends are reg.

Thanks in advance for your feedback!

Can’t help on boat choice, but being new to surf waves, I can tell you make sure water depth is over 12feet, once you get under that the wave starts shrinking fast no matter what boat you have.

Is there a difference btw 2012/13? Are there any certain years that saw a jump in technology, instead of just incremental upgrades?

If up can stretch at all, find a 2015 Mojo with either the manual tabs or auto plates and upgrade them to 2.0. It may be around 8-10k more, but you'll have the newest hull with a proven surf system and the Raptor engine.

Thanks Knox - appreciate the feedback. Is it hard to upgrade to the 2.0?

The upgrade to 2.0 is for auto flow. There isn't an upgrade to manual flow, which is what I had and it threw killer waves and wakes for boarding. But a 15 with auto flow tabs gets you all the latest tech except for autowake and steering wheel mounted speed control. Even better if you can find one with the S Bend tower over the forward swoop OZ.
