    Default What's this boat worth?

My buddy is looking at purchasing a used 2018 Supra SL550 out of state. It has every box checked, except triple axle trailer. Boat has 75 hours on it and has been used in fresh water only.

It is an individual that has it for sale, so what do you think a good price on this would be?

You can spend a lot on a Supra SL

    • Base price is $124k with No Options

    • 575 engine upgrade alone is a $18k

You start adding stereo and other options you can get to $160k

    I asked about a 2018 SL450. Pretty sure he wanted 125k or 128k.

A 160k+ SL550 with 75 hours should be in the high 130’s to low $140’s

That seems high to me. I think you could buy a new one for that or cheaper. Prob depends on the dealer too

What do you think the depreciation hit would be on a boat 1 year old?

Say you bought a new Supra for $130K.
I read about the guys that are buying new boats every year. I assume there has to be a 8-12K hit on the resale price?
I realize they are getting 'super deals' at the dealer b/c they are buying every/every-other year.
    Buy for 130 - sell for 120? 10K or 10K/12 months = 800ish month?. Is that a high number?
I'm not doing this so I do not know, just speculation.

I know a new 2018 is hard to find now that the 2019 in are production, but can a new 2018-left-over for the same price/deal?
SL550 would be hard to find b/c of lower production numbers. Most would have the smaller motor

MSRP is a funny number since nobody pays it. MSPR is 150K, but we are giving you such a good deal we will knock off 20K off the bat?
Everything has to start somewhere with a price.

That boat is worth what someone will pay for it. 🤷🏼*♂️

You're speculating the market will stay the same as it has been for the last five years but that is unusual. The boat market has been down or flat more than up in the last 18 years. I buy when the market is down and a general rule I use is half the MSRP. 2009-2010 were great years to buy and you could sell later and get close to the same price you paid.
