Missing
I have a 08 lsv and it started missing and smells like it’s loading up on fuel at idle and take off, then it slowly clears out, I changed the fuel/water separator. It helped for a day then it came back. Temp is normal, it does it normal temp or cold, doesn’t run hot. But once it clears up it runs great until you stop, then take back off and starts missing again. Wondering if anyone else has had the same issue or if I have water in fuel

Sounds like maybe the float is stuck down or has a hole in it and flooding the carb

08 should be fuel injected right?

Then it may be a Stuck injector or bad o2 sensor.

Try some new spark plugs. My now sold 08 outback V started behaving similarly when it was about 6 years old, I changed the spark plugs and fuel filter and it cleared right up.

ok, i ordered plugs wires cap and rotor, hopefully that will fix.I removed dis cap, and all the points are corroded and look like a battery post.and i also took fuel/water separator and poured fuel into glass and no water ever separated. but

Sounds like possibly a bad ignition coil. When they fail they start to act weird. A lot of times it’s not a complete death of the coil. If you’re changing the cap and rotor, might as well do the coil, no sense in running old parts with new.
