    Guys,

I never did figure this out last year, and then got too busy to even use the boat. So I am back on it now, but still having trouble finding the correct high-pressure pump. I got a part number from Larry, but it looks like it is obsolete. I sent him another PM asking for more help. I hope he has better luck.

The only one's I am seeing are the P61122, P61171, and the P5001.

Here are listings for the "correct" pump, but they are listed with a pigtail which I shouldn't need. Neither of these refer to the actual pump number:

    So confused!

That said, I don't think that the problem was my fuel pump after all. because I replaced my pump and still had issues. I should sell my used one since it wasn't the problem!!!!

$100 and you can have my 2008 pump that I pulled that wasn't bad after all.

Thanks for the link trayson, but those Indmar numbers listed don't match mine. Yours is probably different since your boat is newer.

So I was out yesterday for the first run of the season. Boat died on the wife shortly after launching. I didn't think too much of it. We went to our play spot (20 minutes), chilled out, filled ballast, surfed a session. Then we were draining ballast and needed to move from where we were drifting. The boat died and wouldn't start again. it would crank, sputter up and die.

So I figured out that I wasn't hearing the fuel pump prime upon key turn. (this happened a week ago at home, but the next day it worked fine).

I started messing with wires and after trying a few places of moving around wires and sensors, I wiggled around the wires that were attaching to the bottom of the low pressure fuel pump. After that, I had the wife try the key and sure enough the pump buzzed to life priming up and we were able to start and drive no problem. It cut out once on the drive back, but we were able to get back just fine.

So tonight I'm going to take a look at those connections and see if making them bomber will remedy that aspect I've been having trouble with for so long...

Ever find any issues to fix?

We sat for 1.5 hrs waiting in line to leave the lake after a trouble free day & no start.

Pump buzzed as it should, once it did sputter to life but would not go above idle, then died after about 20 seconds. Think this is the heat soak issue with the single pump application.

Ordered the new $225 pump since it's the 2006 original. Marinepartssource.com

I recently had this same issue. We ran around the lake for an hour or so and sat, had lunch and then nothing. It wouldn't crank over or catch. I was finally able to get it to turn over after it sat for about an hour and a half, i figured the problem to vapor lock and as I only have the single high pressure pump. Most guys on here add a second low pressure pump to feed the high but I went a conservative approach since that second pump runs about $400 bucks and Im bleeding money with this boat. I wrapped my fuel lines in tinfoil / Velcro together stuff thats supposed to keep out 90% of the heat. Ive run it a couple of times and haven't had an issue since. Im also way more diligent with running the blower and I also try and let it idle for 3-5 minutes before fully shutting her off for a longer period of time. If it dies on my again, Im going to add a second pump for piece of mind. Next time it does it, try and dump some cold water on the fuel rail and pump and see if that gets her running sooner.

Good plan. I may add some insulation wrap to mine as well.

    Heres a link to the stuff I used;

I mainly hit the metal fuel line in and around the block. Do forget the one between the fuel rails, I think that guys is the main culprit but Im not sure...

Okay, so I'm finally getting around to replacing these pumps. Carter said the P61171 is the correct pump, so I ordered that one along with the P4594 low pressure pump.

Got the tank drained and went to pre-assemble the pumps to reinstall back in the boat. I realized I needed to swap over some fitting on both of the pumps. 3 of the 4 were no big deal, but the one the fuel/water separator threads onto is a problem. There is no way to get a wrench or anything on it, and I tore the treads up trying to get it off the old pump. I was going to double nut it, but I couldn't find any that size. So now I am in trouble. Anyone know how to get a replacement? The part I damaged is the part the fuel/water separator threads onto. Here are some pics. One of the photos isn't mine, just a reference.

WTF? Why can't I attach any pics?

    Oh well, here they are:
