little aftaid that this would be a Mojo killer - and i guess it still could be once it proves itself
Why would this be a Mojo killer? Doubt they are going to just go from 22' to 24'6" in that line. Yeah, the base line Max is 22'6", but it isn't a replacement for the Mojo

Yeah you're probably right - I keep forgetting it's 2-1/2' bigger, not really in the same league!

It is not only 2'6" longer, it also has a 102" beam compared to the Mojo 100". I do think the Mojo is due for a redesign next year and could end up looking very similar to the Makai.

Looks great but hard to fit in many garages. You take this exact boat and make it a 21', wack off $8-10k ($3k per pineal foot lol) and you've got a huge market there! Basically a moomba version of the SR with subfloor ballast.

They are wanting to compete with the a24 in my opinion. This boat would be much better fit and finish. One thing you can’t complain about an a24 is the wave. So If they produce a boat that’s cheaper and has a better surf wave, they’ve got it licked in the big boat department.

If you put the side storage trays in a Max you have the same subfloor ballast setup.

That is the boat I would buy. Or, add the tower and walk through to the max and I would get that. Not interested in wave, and 24-25 ft is way to much boat for me. But, for surfers I think this boat looks amazing!!!

I saw Drew Tinker refer to it as "concealed ballast" on Facebook so opposed to sub floor...

That is much more accurate. There is nothing subfloor about rear bags and plastic trays. Still better than nothing. With most boats you add piggy backs and lose that storage anyway.

Getting talk with and have Drew go over everything at the Dallas boat show was the best part about going.
