    Default Cracking / Wearing Vinyl

Hey guys, any suggestions on how to fix this and/or prevent further damage? Am I out of luck and looking at a complete replacement before long? This is really disappointing on a 5yr old boat that has been covered and/stored inside and has been treated with premium/manufacturer recommended care products. The worst of it is on the rear deck but there are several other cushions with worn corners and cracking at the seams. My previous trade in was a 7 year old Bayliner and the cushions were not in such poor shape!

you can use Tear Aid to patch them up.

Are you using spray sunscreen on your boat at all?

I will look into tear aid. Very little spray sunscreen is used on the boat, I usually request people do this on the platform or in the bow of he boat. I try to open up the boat after most outings if the weather is nice (cover up, cushions flipped up, etc.).

I keep up the vinyl mostly with 303 and I’ve used performance boat candy clean & condition as well.

NO aerosols on the boat. Lotion or pump sprays only.

My 12 mojo is doing it a little. I used mink oil on my old outback when it started. Had it 3 years and they never got worse. Just lune a little microfiber towel and massage the seats. I’m planning On doing the same to the mojo at seasons end.

I’m having similar issues with my 2013 mojo, will post pics this weekend.

I’m a natzi about the sunscreen and always store inside with dryers in my boat and all cushions removed for long term storage during offseason. It has to be the grade of vinyl. Took much worse care of my prior +20 year old runabout and it looked better and faired better.

Planning on having it redone later this winter. Disappointed to say the least, but whatcha gunna do, buy a 6 fig boat?

I have a '14 Mojo and have similar wear.

You can try this at your own peril. If you put a little Super Glue gel at the ends of the tears, that will usually halt the vinyl from tearing further on small tears like shown in pics. That will stiffen the vinyl considerably where ever you put this though.

Does Moomba sell replacement skins for their vinyl? Get skins somewhere else?

Gorilla glue worked well for me to stop my cracks from advancing. My vinyl is an 07, with some cracks. I would be totally pissed if it started cracking after 3 summers.
