Default 2006 Moomba Mobius LSV with ballast system need surf setup

We just purchased a 2006 Mobius with ballast (2) 750 rear sacs & (1) 500 front locker sac. We added a Ronix Eight.3 wave shaper and to be honest not impressed with the wave much at all. Need some help with setup. We are running between 11-13 mph seems like the curl is right behind the boat. How do you move the wave off of the back of the boat?

Please help with your setup info.

    Thanks

You are going to need to list that boat to get the wave to go. My 08 lsv had an epic wave. Use the shaper, but you need more weight. In my lsv, I had 1100 lbs surf side, 400 lbs or so non-surf side, 400 center tank and 650 bow sac. We would surf 10.3 up to 11, depending on the day.

Ditto moombahighrider's setup and you'll have a great wave. Especially the weight up in the bow and speeds closer to 10.5mph.

Gonna go over all this so don't be insulted if you already know some of it as many folks miss one thing and their wave is not good.

    1. Calibrate your speedo and start around 9.8 and go up from there about .2 or .3 at a time and watch. Should not go over about 11.1.
    2. Deploy your surf gate on the opposite side from the one 1 you are surfing on and as far back as you can go-- near the LSV logo is good.
    3. Even with a wake shaper you still need some list with this boat. So don't fill your off side rear bag more than 80% but go all the way full on the surf side.
    4. About all the weight up front you can get-- this helps lengthen the wave.
    5. You can move people around to fine tune. Start with most on the surf side and up front.
    6. If you have an adjustable wake plate start with it all the way up and adjust down until the wave lengthens a bit and cleans up so you see a nice dark (not frothy) face on the wave. Usually about 70-80% up is good. With an IBS it can be closer to 50%.
    7. Hang 10!

More weight on surf side so boat “lists” that way.

I think my 2011 is pretty similar Hull to yours. I run 1100 lbs on the surf side and 750 on the other. My ski locker is full and I have a 750lb bag under front seats. My wave didn’t get great until I added that 750 up front. Wake plate 50%

I run 910s in both of the rear lockers almost completely full (since we surf both sides), the stock center bags full ( I believe its 400 pounds), then I have the stock rear bags under the bow seats and fill those as much as possible (about half). We run the wake plate at about 50%. With a shaper on the opposite side of the surfer we get a good wave with lots of push. Hope this helps.
