    Question for you

Dealer told me that with full ballast and much over 10 people in the boat i should have the 450 engine. is this something that anyone can confirm for me? Do you see engine performance issues with the base 400 engine?

Not if you prop the boat correctly. Does the 450 give you more flexibility? Sure....is it an absolute necessity under the conditions you posted? No

If you want to run with 10 people or 5000lb and still be able to do 45mph across the lake, then yes, get the bigger engine, but if your ok with only being able to do say 35mph flat out, then just get a lower pitched prop that is suited for your main needs

I'm all for loading a boat but 10 people is a LONG day on the water! Even with the launch any boat will have a hard time getting to speed with that many people and 3000 lbs of ballast. I want to see the wakes people are throwing with a LOADED boat.

What prop would you recommend for big ballast and a big crew? We run 10 or so people regularly (not all of them surf) and we opted for 1,200 bags. Running around 3,500 elevation

I would take a long look at the 15x12 (Acme 2315) or 15x11 (Acme 2949) but you will lose it on the top end. I would say max speed 32 to 34mph if I was to guess.

That's not too bad. I am not too concerned with top end speed. We surf and want the boat to perform to do so.

I'm with you! I hope for 2019 SC offers a little more aggressive prop.
