Bingo. Severe vibration will cause flexing in the shaft and that will do exactly what you said. Same reason why you don't keep driving a car with one snapped wheel stud. Yet people still do it and then wonder what happened when they see their wheel pass them on the expressway.

Well that was not a fun process, easy outs for the broken bolts, and my mig welder for the broken pins. Just waiting for parts and put it all back in.. Whew.. Was stressing..

Actually, I wish had done that first instead of messing around in the bilge like I did. Would've saved a lot of time, it's actually pretty small and light, 8 bolts..Instead I had to empty and move the tank to get room. Next time gonna pull the vdrive.. Lol
