    Default SA stereo ground

I recall a hiss when boat was off. This was mainly audible from towers. For sure a different sound than the rgb scream! Never heard when running of course or when music was playing. I just assumed I was being over sensitive and never let the music stop playing

I just purchased a new 2018 SA and was having the same issues with the JL setup. After doing some research, thanks to previous posts about the ICE system, I found out the ICE system actually outputs 4V - ( https://www.enovationcontrols.com/ca...mpaign=1511740)

According to the JL AMP manual the input voltage should be set to LOW for input ranges from 200mV - 2V and HIGH for 800mV - 8V.

I switched the input voltage from LOW to HIGH and it made a huge difference. I lost some of the hiss and was able to adjust the gains correctly. The system sounds great now and no more distortion at very low volume settings.

Just in case it's needed here is a link to the ICE user and installation manuals.

Did you set the gains with a volt meter using JL's steps? Id be curious what the output terminals metered out at prior to switching the in-put level.

I was told by my dealer they fixed voltage issue on 2018 models. Pre 2018 has no where near 4 volts.

But great catch on input on amps. Sounds like ice was fixed but the amp installer at the factory did not get the memo.

I haven't had a chance to actually set them with a meter yet, I'm going to try to do that this weekend. If I have time I'll switch it back to LOW and see if there is a big difference in voltage.

Not so much looking for a difference when the switch is changed, but rather the accuracy of the original setting, per JL's guidlines for setting gain by meter for an expected output.

There will definitely be a shift in the output voltage between the two switch positions, but this does not make either right or wrong.

They vary from what I am reading from your post. From my experience that is....
