This reads as if you are considering two 12's from one line or a single from another?

Oh, and worth saying again, for a wet sounds XXX-12, the Syn-DX2.3HP is the better amp choice out of the wet sounds stable.
Sorry for not being clear, yes, either a single XXX-12 or W7.

What is the difference between the SD2 and the Syn-DX2.3HP? (Not complaining 2.3 is $300 cheaper)

Also, would the KXA2400/1 require additional batteries or a new HO alternator??

The Syn-DX2.3HP has more tuning flex ability, making it better for a woofer/ported enclosure setup.

If you were going to run the 2400.1 @ 2 ohm and tuned to its potential, then yes, an upgraded charging system and larger battery bank would be needed.

Anyway, I would not worry about amps, until you choose a woofer(s) and you cant really make a woofer(s) choice, until you get in there and take some measurements to see what the boat is going to allow gross volume wise.

Does the Syn-DX2.3HP have the same footprint and look as the sinister series amps?

Although the new Syn-DX series share some of the Sinister SD line's tech, they have their own chassis design. The 2 chnl Syn-DX2.3HP is in the same chassis as the 6 chnl Syn-DX6 @ 14.57" x 8.27". For comparison, the Syn-DX2 is 12.21" x 8.27". The DX2.3HP is not just a hopped up DX2, but a completely different amp that larger with much more output then the DX2. The Syn series are a medium gray where as the SD are nearly black. Their chassis is quite different.

Robert, if you have to ask... Lol, jk

A wrap would be pretty sick but I kinda dig the stealthy look to the truck, black on shadow grey...I think it makes the boat pop that much harder.
