Yea but with subs, if you’re going for just pure output, quantity makes a difference...
For $1500 you can get 2 12W6’s and a 1000watt amp that will push them hard.
Fitting them is another story, but anything can be done with enough $$! LolOverkill is underrated

I would not worry about impedance and coil configuration this early in the game. Only matters when its time to pair the woofer(s) to an amp. Surface area rules, and that includes a ported enclosure. You really need to see what the boat is going to let you do, enclosure size wise. 2 woofers is great, unless you have to shrink the enclosure down from ideal volume, to make it fit.
If you are looking for a symmetrical look, the Kicker L series offers a marine grill in white or charcoal that matches the Kicker marine in-boats. Even comes with RGB LEDs like the upper level KM654L series. A single 12" in a ported enclosure drive with the KXMA1200.1 is a pretty serious setup. Two L10 or L12 on the KXA2400 would loosen some fillings.
In the Wet sounds stable, the XXX on the Syn-DX2.3HP is SOLID! Two on a Kicker KXA2400.1 would be earth shaking.
JL 12 or 13 W7 on the HD1200/1 is fantastic in a ported enclosure.
So, lots of solid woofers out there/ Some, like the Wet Sounds, are built from the ground up as a true marine woofer. Rubber spider, enclosure motor/magnet, composite cone, Steer clear of those using terms like "hybrid" laminated, as they tend to be paper based cones and not as well suited for the marine environment. Same with those advertising their dist cap material. The dust cap is not the cone. Others, Like the Kicker L series, may not be built as a true marine woofer, but carry some quality build properties that make them well suited for marine use.

Me either, That's why I went with the Exile javelin amp powering new cabins and the xi12d running off the 5th channel. It's more than enough. But sounds like he wants to shake the bottom of the lake, lol

Initially they each were on a separate Kicker 600.1 at 2ohms each. but as the system grew I needed to consolidate and I had an old PPI 1000.1 from my wife’s megacab project that went sideways. It was loud, it overpowered the Rev410 on the tower, that’s when we went to 2 410’s.
And that was in a store bought prefab ported box cus I’m lazy... lol
The beauty of the W6 is they don’t need a lot of room even ported. .75 cubes each and they’re happy. They’re ideal for boats. That’s my .02Last edited by Broke Pilot; 03-14-2018 at 08:24 PM.

Love it... lol
My wife s the same way. We call her L-Dawg. Lmao she listens to some ridiculous stuff. Her new 4Runner is loaded out. Focal components and 2 JL TW5’s in a custom box. I can hear her coming through the neighborhood before she gets to our culdesac when she’s goofing off with it.
I’ve got those W6’s in the shop with the amp if you wanna bring that boat up and load them in for a day just to see what direction you wanna go.Overkill is underrated
