outback DD vs outback V

I've been looking for a new boat. I can't decide between the outback DD and the outback v. I would be using it for Wakeboarding, skiing, and tubing with my son.
Both boats look great to me, and I can't decide if the difference in price is worth it. My old boat was a jet boat.

Any advice would be great.

Advantages of V-Drive:
--------------------------
* More seating for friends and family
* Much more "social" boat configuration - no need to change seating based on pulling skier, etc.
* LOTS more storage room
* Better orientation for adding ballast for wakeboarding/wakesurfing.
* Better overall weight distribution for wakeboarding, wakesurfing even w/o ballast


Disadvantages to V-Drive:
-----------------------------
* One more item to break down, check/change fluids in.
* Slight loss of torque vs Direct drive
* Not as flat a wake for Slalom skiing
* Slightly less manuverrable than a direct drive (turns on a nickel, not a dime)


That said - I LOVE my LSV and would not change for the world, and I only ski and do not wakeboard or wakesurf much (yet)

I think that for anyone who is not a VERY avid slalom skier - V-Drives are the way to go. You get 90% of the ability of the DD, but 150% more usable boat. By the time you add ballast bags to a DD for wakeboarding - you might as well have no room at all for people... or more importantly to Ed - for Beer!

I had to buy the outback DD because of the money I lost in my old boat.
I hope it works for me, I won't be able to change for about 10 years.
I bought the 2007 outback with all the possible options

Hey Joe

I blew the motor in my 2006 seadoo challenger, and the dealership I took it to also sold Moomba. When they told me I had no warranty (3 months)on the new engine, I decided to deal. My rush is because the seadoo loses value so fast.
I took the boat in on August 4th, and am just now deciding to buy.
I went for tests in the V and the DD, and like both, but after losing 10,000 on the SeaDoo, I couldn't afford to lose anymore.
