Transom remote
Hi,
I want a transom remote on my new Moomba mobius LSV. If i order it right from the factury it will cost me around $ 230 extra. These are Europe prices. The only problem is thet i really dislike the standard white AEWARE remotes. Compare them to the original Kenwood remotes KCA-MR50.
How hard is it to install these new remotes myself? Anyone got experience with this and want to share this? How much wires uses the remote and anyone got an installation manual for the Kenwood or Aeware remot?
It cheaper for me to buy 2 new remotes and a Y cable than choose for the factory option.
Any info, pictures, instructions etc are welcome.

I don't think the Kenwood remote is water resistent.

Kenwood does offer a water resistant remote. Supra uses it. I'm not sure of the model name but I'm sure you could find it online. It should connect to the Moomba HU no problem with the correct wiring.

You can get both the Kenwood remote or the Aeware remote in black instead of the white. They both cost around $50-60 online. They install the same, there is a 7/8" hole in the center to pass the wires and two smaller (maybe 1/4") holes on the ends to pass the studs that mount the remote. There is a ground, power and keypad lights power wire that install to a power source. There is also a single signal wire that mounts to the deck. The signal wire is just a simple ~16ga. wire with a special plug on the end. You can save your money and skip the Y-adapter and just splice the wire into the existing wire traveling to the dash.
