Prop to trailer clearance
I installed my 1235 and ended up with 3/8", just like I figured. What do you guys think?

That's how mine is and I power load often. The next time you launch take some pressure treated plywood or cutting board plastic 4x4in squares and shim up the rear bunk. Adding a 1/4 or 1/2in with a hole in the center. Just unscrew the bolt, place the shim, you may need a long screw.

Yea, that's not enough to feel safe. Shims are cheaper than prop repair.

I honestly sold my 1235 to a guy and this was his post I copied over here because you guys are the only ones I know of running with that small clearance. I told him to run it. I thought I remember a lot of guys here running them?

Ideally, the back of the boat should be off the bunks when the trailer is backed into the water adding to the clearance.

Yeah I always figured the boat would at least a foot off the trailer when backed fully into the water making that gap 12 3/8"

I know it sounds dumb BUT who has hit the prop on the trailer? In many years of boating with inboards I hit the trailer the other year loading the boat myself in the wind. I was able to fix the prop for a few hundred but still sucked. My Mojo was almost on the trailer and WHAM since I got a little off center but still in the guide poles, I was actually surprised it happened.

Call/email Boatmate. A shim kit is $25 shipped (or make it yourself, it’s 3/8” HDPE). Installation time is less than one beer.

I’ve been boating for 14 years never had a problem until last year .last day out windy as hell went on a little crooked but between the poles and heard that expensive sound. Nettles fixed me up for 225
