Is Samsung really that bad? Oh, how the mighty have fallen, if that's the case.

I’m an A/V installer, I’ve sold and installed hundreds of Samsung TVs in the last few years. Never once had a bad capacitor. I have had 1 bad power supply , 1 DOA & 2 w/ a blue line down the middle. I have installed 4 customer provided Sony tvs in the last few months and 2 of them were bad.

You know it's bad when you can buy repair kits off Amazon. Samsung decided to use substandard capacitors got sued and had to warranty replace them. It's an easy fix, I've repaired 3 or 4 friends and families tvs for $5. They designed/planned for the tvs only to last a few years.

I bought a new tv last year. ended up taking the samsung 9000 series 65" home. never did work properly. ended up taking it back.
replaced with a sony xbr and never looked back.

now we will see how it performs in 2 weeks after I pull it out of storage for the last 6 months and sitting in our garage that has most recently been as high as 102deg.

What ever TV you buy make sure to turn off the picture enhancement stuff, can't stand the soap opera effect.
