    Default Top Speed

Anyone have a fuel injected 06 LSV? What's your top speed? I haven't made it much over 35. Doesn't seem right. My 05 would run between 40 and 42. There's about 15 degrees of play at the end of the throttle that does nothing. It doesn't run much past 4000 rpm. I will have them look at it during my 20 hr service.

I purchased an 06 outback earlier this summer with the Assult engine. Before I brought It into the 20 hour inspection I was unable to run it over 4,000 RPM as well. I think they place some kind of "RPM" resriction until your engine is over 10 hours.

So how does it run now? Were you able to run it higher after 10 hours or was it after your 20 hr service?

I'm at 65hr, and I can get about 42 out of it max. It lets me go beyond 4000. Pretty sure I could before my 20hr as well. My hour meter flashed the hours at me till 20 however.

Remember your 05 was a smaller, lighter boat with a different hull (less V)

True, but I do have 15 more HP than my 05 and I think the engine should be able to run faster than 4000 rpm. Obviously I did not buy it to have a speedboat, but everything I've read, I should be able to break 40. My hourmeter used to flash also, but this one doesn't.

    Thanks,

I have an '06 Outback and I'm seeing around 43-44 mph top end at around 4800 RPM. I did notice a slight increase in speed after my 20 hr, but not much. I do find that playing with the wake plate and raising the bow a bit helps out. Not as much as my old outboard, but it also helps cruising comfort getting the bow abit out of the water.

4000 RPM seems like way to low for WOT. Is it a factory prop?

Oh, don't get me wrong AZ, I agree 35 is too slow even for a tow boat, especially a new one, as is the 4000rpm top end. The "limit" is questionable. I'd see your dealer - this is exactly the kind of thing to discuss at the 20 hour service. I just always get a bit bothered by people who are comparing apples to avacados. Hull design is HUGE in what top speed a boat will do. Outback <> LSV <> XLV.

Check Perfectpass. It think it clips the top end a little - not down to 35 however. Is this GPS confirmed? The speedos are very flexible.

Are you reading the analog speedometer or the PerfectPass Digital speed? PerfectPass generally says that its speed reading is not acurate over ~30mph, hence the RPM setting for slalom skiers. I have an '06 LSV and I too have the 15degrees or so of play at the end of the throttle. I can run 41-42 mph at 4500-4600 RPM. This is reading the analog speedo for the speed and the PP digital for the RPM. The PP digital speedo only reads about 35-36 mph top end. Also, my hour meter is flashing still at 75 hours. Is this something the dealer should be able to take care of or should have taken care of during the first service?
