If he's referring to the clear vinyl hose with woven mesh molded in, it won't work. It designed to reinforce for positive pressure, not a vacuum that the impeller pumps draw.

Flex- PVC is not "hose" but I've heard of it being used. Seems like it be tough to compress it down with A clamp as it's not meant to.

agree with MLA the hose has to be the coil re enforced. wakemakers or flow rite has it , plus you can get an elbow barbed or straight piece in the irrigation or the plumbing section.

Without even getting into the specs of cpap hose, the biggest issue that I see, is that style of hose has the coils on the outside of the hose, rather then encases in the hose. This present two issue. Hose durability and clamping. Shields makes a marine hose thats basically the same style. Only lasts a few seasons in a boat. The exposed raised coil ribs make it hard for a clamp to sit flat and make a good compression.

Stick with the better coil reinforced hose found at most marine supply houses.

Flow-Rite does not stock the 1" hose. The 1.125" will not clamp down on the 1" barb of the jabsco or johnson pumps.

Just .75" and 1.125" as thats technically what size their fittings are.

Right type of hose for sure, just not the right size.

I've heard of people using "spa hose" or "hot tub" hose. I've not used it myself so can't really vouch for it but it looks like our local Menards carries it in 1" inside diameter. Looks very similar to my factory ballast hose.
