The info is in the Operator's Manual. The shifting portion of the transmission, with the red dipstick, uses Dexron 3 or Dexron 6 automatic transmission fluid. The v-drive portion with the yellow dipstick uses Mobil Delvac 50 synthetic transmission oil like would be used in a standard shift transmission in a high performance car or heavy duty trick.

Larry, sorry for the ignorant question without referencing the manual.....to change each of those, are there drain plugs or should Mx be done by vacuum pumping out the dipstick holes?

The shifting transmission has a drain plug. It will be on the side of the transmission near the bottom you can drain from there or suck it out. The v-drive oil will need to be pumped/sucked out.

Can I use any different type of oil? Other than the Mobil Delvac 50 synthetic transmission oil in the vdrive portion?

    Default Tranmission and vdrive oils

Other manufacturers make SAE 50 synthetic manual transmission oil. Most are equally rated for 500k mile drain intervals when used for over the road trucks in severe conditions.

Amsoil, Delvac,Triax to name a few.

But no matter which brand it’s appx $50 per gallon.

Most come in gallons only, so this may be the one case to just get qts of the Indmar synthetic transmission fluid at $14 each from bakes.

    Indmar is delvac SAE50

How much of the vdrive fluid can you expect to extract? I’m changing the vdrive fluid on my 2020 Moomba Mojo and extracted only .50 quart. Manual says there’s 1.25 in the drive unit.
