It was clean as far we saw! Launched at April Plaza, cruised down towards the dam, then on up to wakeboard cove then to the island. Didn't see anything.

Last week the ash from the forest fires subsided enough that I took the boat out. As you can see, the smoke from the fires was still prevalent (that's NOT fog). And the whole surface of the water was filled with floating pine needles. But it was just crazy fun to have the entire river to myself. The Interstate freeway has been closed for over a week. Even commercial river traffic was closed further upstream. It's very rare that it's smooth enough to ski the main channel of the Columbia River right from the launch.

Out again on Saturday evening. Got the first rain that we've seen in months. Needed for our forest fires, so I didn't complain. We just kept on surfing.

    Sideways is fun

The wife loves her Doomswell and tried to show us a little of the bottom of her board.

my 11 y/o shredder. Thinking about getting him a surf style board next.

Wife having fun on a night surf. The water smoothed out so much after the rain passed that she took another set (even after changing into dry clothes!)
    She's hooked.
