I'm at work but my wife and son are in Katy. Son is staying with my inlaws for the weekend since my wife has to work. Hospitals don't shut down for hurricanes. She is on the recovery team at the hospital so once the storm hits and passes she will have to go in and possibly stay for up to 3 days. When she left last night she took an air mattress, pillow, extra clothes and scrubs in case she got flooded in over night and had to stay. I talked to her earlier and she said they keep getting waves of medium severity storms and the power flickered on and off all night. Her parents house and our house lost power during the night but I think it has since come back on. Our main concern is flooding from the rain since we are predicted to get somewhere in the neighborhood of 20"+

I'm stuck in Dallas at my Lear recurrent training but Linz is holding down the fort in Conroe.only got a few sprinkles until this morning. She says it's steady but not a hard rain. I have a feeling by Monday things around my area and down to Houston will have changed. The Sugarland airport is closed due to water on the runway (it floods pretty easy)

Conditions are very calm where I am but I'm a long way away from where the storm hit. I'm basically straight East of Venice Louisiana south of Mississippi. Wife says we keep getting tornado warnings and her best friends town(Rosenberg) is under mandatory evacuation do to the Brazil's River flooding. Last year it crested at 54.7 ft and it was pretty catastrophic, right now it is forecast to crest at 55 ft.
