Supra sa 400 vs 440
Should I get the 440 or the 400 in the supra sa. I am not sure if it is worth the extra price. We will be surfing and wakeboarding mostly running stock ballast with 2-4 people in the boat. What are your guys thoughts.

Any elevation above sea level, I would go with 440. I boat at 6000 ft and my 440 still can't cut it with 4000 lbs. I know that's a lot of weight and not what I run normally. I normally run 3000 to 3500 and can just hit 10.3 mph surfing, but no more

First, I would think properly propped the 400 would be suffic
Second, not trying to threadjack here but I will ask the question anyways. The 400 to a 440 is just a programming difference, engine is identical. Does anyone think a company will come up with a way to re program a 400 to the 440 for less than the 5k the dealers are asking for?2016 Craz

Wow didn't realize it was THAT much heavier. OK so maybe 440. Still wonder why someone cant get an ECM from a 440 and plug it on their 400. Best way to know would be drive them both. Depending on where in the power band you get the extra torque it may or may not be useful. Its only 27lb-ft after all from the 400 to 440. Seems like the decision should be 400 vs 575.
