Obv heat

I store my trailer cover in left side locker, I noticed after docking boat tonight that cover was warm to the touch it was not hot out at all today.
I was running boat with full ballast and then some.
Is this normal?
No lights on dash I was not paying attention to any gauges!!

My engine compartment (as well as the v drive compartments stay hot for 4 or 5 hours after I'm done boating. Always have from day one. My temp gauge has never shown overheating though. I think it's normal.
