Impossible Pivot bolts on wake tower

My big pivot bolts with the x slot for a screw driver keep backing out. They are near impossible to tighten. I've broken flat head screw drivers and fully loosened the knobs and removed the rear set screws along with keeping everything as is. I just can't tighten them. Any tips? What am I missing.

You probably already tried this but I lifted up on the tower to get the pressure off of them and was able to get them tightened. Mine keep backing out and have to be tightened again periodically.

Blue Locktite allows them to lock but can be removed

Red Locktite means never removed again

I'll give that a try. Seems like the tower is under engineered between this and the problems with knob and how it threads into the base. Seems plenty strong just could have used more thought on the connection points.
