Those with Phase 5 are stuck using P5 fins or maybe the original two tab FCS fins. They are either two tab like the FCS1 or screw through. Nick uses futures ILT (Interwoven Laminate Technology) box compatible bases on his fins, including his skim fins. Be sure to remember that the ILT boxes come in 3/4 depth for front fins and 1/2 for rear and center when purchasing fins.
Sorry guys.'06 Outback - Gone but not forgotten

So let me ask, the JJ grom fin gets great reviews, I see a lot of fans of the wakesurf specific Chaos fins... Has anyone been able to ride both?

[QUOTE=PuraVida;311278]I ride my neo with chaos flare fins. They are fins actually made for wakesurfing while the other fins mentioned above are repurposed ocean surfing fins. They may work but that is not their design intent. Below is a quote I got from an email to nick at chaos. I haven't rode the blackstix f4s to compare but I would love to hear if someone has.
Nick makes great fins but it's hard to argue with the massive amount of design experience and feedback from the best surfers in the world that futures brings to the table.
What makes a fin good for any application is the right characteristics. Decide what you want it to do and then look within the parameters for design elements that lend themselves to your end goal. Forget about marketing and the "this is a wakesurf fin" mentality.'06 Outback - Gone but not forgotten

Fins aren't board specific. A particular board doesn't ride better with a specific fin. Fin selection is personal - your size & what you want to do on the board, how the board reacts, etc is how fins should be selected.
We went through dozens of setups & fins before finding the right combination. You need to experiment on your own & find what works best for you.
