I am on the verge of going there too (just need to convince my wife). Could you please post some nice photos of the lake and environment? I'd show it to her.

Not a bunch of terrain pics but here are some water pics. I will get some terrain today. It's awesome with cliffs lining the shore and you can go way up the brazos for
Good water. Watch out for trees. I would not go without navionics on boat or phone.

I went to Whitney the 1st time last year.
Nice lake, a little bigger than Lake Conroe. 23000 acres approx.
    Good water quality and clarity.
Does have some great bluffs and cliffs.
Restaurants? Few if any on the water.
Very little service of any kind, quite odd for a lake this nice.
The area is not very prosperous.
On the other hand, if nobody comes it will be great
If you want it, you better bring it.
It is 3 hours from my house down Hwy 6.
I did buy a place there a few months ago.
    A shack on the water.

My golf cart makes it just fine.

Default Lake Whitney in Central TX

Here are a few more shoreline pics. I really enjoyed the lake. Coming from lake lewisville I loved not having 40 foot cruiser waves to tackle. Also, being able to go up the Brazos for good water is a nice bonus.

    This was fun!

Being a new owner there all of my time has been from White Bluff to the Dam.
The channel is not obvious North of there. I need a boating map or app and or to follow those with experience there.
There is a random tree here and there in what appears to be the main channel which seems odd.
I do like the lake, its lack of traffic, decent bluffs to dive and or find smooth water. Also that the waterline is public property.
