    Default Sub mounitng help

I have ordered a 12" sub and box, shallow mount and would like input where to mount it.......my thought is under the passenger dash on an 05 Moomba Outback with my amp and batteries but open to suggestion. Second, the box is carpet, Ive read to remove it and waterproof the box......ho[ping can come up with another option such as getting it up and away from any floor moisture Any help or suggestions would be appreciated!!

Mount it in front of the driver. In the passenger compartment is the worst. It will basically muffle the bass.

    open to suggestion.
Ok, here goes! cancel the order. Go with a traditional, non shallow woofer and build a custom enclosure thats suited for the marine environment and that fits under the helm.

Since we are on the topic of sub mounting....I still have the original factory sub in my XLV mounted into the kickboard. It really doesn't sound good. What is the best way to go to replace it? Should I look at a free air sub and use the same hole (it certainly isn't sealed) or maybe cut that part out? I guess I could mount one of those wetsounds AS-10s above it. How would you experts go about placing a new sub in there? Keep in mind I'm not an audiophile or enthusiast, I just want decent to good, not lake shaking. See pics.

Edit: I'm over 6 feet tall and I like my leg room. I want to lose as little of it as possible.

Tell me about that EQ you got there! What woofer is that, what amp is driving it. How its tuned and how the in-boats are tunes, can effect how even the best woofer, sounds as a complete package.

With the new Wet Sounds Revo-12FA, this is a honest solution to consider.
