Mine ended up just a bit longer than specified (end of down pipe a couple inches higher than center of prop). You can't tell from pics and it works perfectly. I think the fact the boat runs nose high ends up putting the exhaust right in the center of the wash anyway.
I just installed mine two weeks ago. My Z measurement was around 3.5-4". This was higher than the instructions wanted but that was the only way to get full travel from the wakeplate. It does not seem to affect functionality and they didn't mention anything when I sent in my warranty info.

We were approximately 3" on ours with about 0.3" from wakeplate to manifold in the raised position. I was worried that if we went any closer we'd get vibration or metal-on-metal noise/damage.

Mine is the "Y" pipe with the side mount and the quick release. I am ordering better pins for both the platform and the quick release so it's easier to get the platform off as we remove every time we come home.

It looks fantastic. Can't wait to test it out this w/e.

Kane about how much farther does it stick out past the Wake plate? I'm very limited on how much longer the boat can get and still fit in the garage
