Can you guys help me get a better wave? 2005 Mobius LSV
Hey Guys,
New to the forum. New to wake/surf boats. So can you guys dumb it down for me. LOL. I posted a WTB in the classifieds for some ballast bags. But I need to know if I'm heading in the right direction.
I have a 2005 LSV with the Gravity 3 system. Budget 6-7 hundred bucks. I have a DIY gate. Primary surfer is my 13 year old. Wake makers has a 2x1000 lbs bag system for around 450.00 so I was thinking that but I just want to be sure its the right way to go. Any information is appreciated. I am hands on and can do most any type of DIY stuff. I don't mind piecing a kit together if it saves me money.
Thank you,
Guy

Get a bow sac to go with the 1000lb rear sacs. You need the weight up front to keep the bow down and make a nice wave. I ran mine once without the bow sac and it wasn't even surfable. I put a 750lb ibs in it and now it throws an awesome surf wave. You'll want to upgrade the pumps eventually too it will take forever to fill all that ballast with the stock pump setup

Agreed with above. Installing an IBS will give you a longer wake , so youre not surfing right on the platform. Pair that with a couple 1000s in the rear and youre set. No surf side boas required as you already have a shaper.

I also have a 2005 Mobius LSV w/gravity 3 ballast. We took the 2x 300lbs rear bags that were stock and moved them under the front bow seats. (You will need a piece of wood or something to brace the passenger side bow bag from sliding into the battery). Bought 2x 750lbs fat sacks for the rear, with the stock 400lbs in the ski locker and a suction gate you will be set.

That hull maxes out with about the 750's so don't pay more and you can find them used from guys with LSV's, etc. that can go larger. Get a pair and then some weight up front, add a sukg8 and you will be good to go.

These are what I went with in my 2007 lsv. You could go a little bigger in the front but not much. The 910's fill the rear lockers.
