water pump
Up here in the northeast our season is just starting. I had the boat ( 2000 Outback) on the trailer in the water for the first time this year warming up with the engine cover open. Suddenly it starts to rain- in the boat only!
Turns out the pump seal let go and was squirting water on the crank pulley. We rushed to our local dealer in Alton Bay, NH who did the repair asap.
We also found the impellar to be on it's last legs. At least half the blades were ready to rip off. I hadn't planned on checking it until the end of this season. Major lesson learned.
Check yearly and have one on hand.
Have you checked yours lately?

Try Dicount Inboard Marine. They have everything you should need. Overton's also lists the impellar. Mine was a Johnson 812 For the Chevy Indmar.
Good Luck.
