Left ballast bag won't fill
We took our boat out for the first time today here in Utah. On a side note it was freezing cold! (Totally worth it!)
We were able to fill up the right side ballast bag and the center ballast tank but the left side ballast pump did not fill the bag. It would make the noise as though it was pumping water yet no water would actually flow.
Anybody have any thoughts about why that would happen?

Did you check the thru hull fitting? The ball valve may be closed.

Here is a little more information. The impeller was rather lose when I removed it from the pump. Is that normal?
Do I need to be cruising in order for the ballast to prime and get water flowing?

Try switching impellers form one pump to another and see if that changes things.

I fill sitting still and when boat is moving. I installed new impellers this year. Second time out center tank and IBS did not fill. I double checked everything when I got home and everything seemed fine. Next time out everything wrong fine. I am not sure what happened but assume it did not prime for some reason.
