Would this work
The sub sound in our 14 mojo is not very good. Instead of building custom box, this would fit pretty well in the space under the dash. It is not marine rated but I don't see how it will really get wet. Thoughts. The 2ohm 400 watt max matches perfectly to the stock kicker amp.

Direct water contact is only part of it. The humid environment of boating will eventually get to any store bought off the shelf MDF carpet covered car enclosure. You may not notice visually, but if you are intune, pardon the pun, to the woofer's performance, you will be hear a change in how the woofer sounds.

What if I removed the carpet and sealed with bedliner coating?

The time to do that and you are not far from building a custom enclosure. At that point, pick up a 2nd Kicker KM104 for a smaller investment with same results.

Have you thought about a WetSounds https://wetsounds.com/pages/products/stealth-AS-10.html. I have the previous version (HT-AS10) under the helm.
