Default Prop recommendations for an 07 OBV?

    Hi all,
I did a search but did not find what I am looking for. I had a prop strike on my last outing, last fall and am only just getting around to getting it replaced (no real hurry with the current weather). I plan of having the original repaired and possibly keep it as a backup if there is a better prop for what we mostly do which is wake surfing about 90% of the time. I remember a few years ago everyone was raving about some ACME prop, blah, blah, blah but honestly, I have not been keeping up to speed on the latest and greatest. Any thoughts or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I would recommend calling Nettles or Wakemakers and they can help you out based on your needs (i.e. what activities you do, how much ballast you use, etc)

If you are surfing mostly you will probably want an acme 1433.

I have an 06 OBV and have the 1847 and love it. I ordered mine from Nettles. They said there's not much difference between it and the 1433 but recommended the 1847. I run a max of about 2,000 lbs and don't have any issues (although I do need some more weight in the bow but that's a separate issue).

1847 here as well in an 08 OBV. It handles plenty of ballast, can still run 40+ mph up top, and eliminated that nasty growl at surf speed. I didn't have to shim the trailer bungs either, but it's close.

Sorry to bump a thread that is done and put to bed but I just wanted to say WOW! What a difference. I purchased an Acme 1847 from Nettles and have only had an opportunity to take the boat out two times so far but I can honestly say, I am blown away by the difference between the Acme and the stock OJ. Everything is better. No growls or surges or dumb stuff. Super smooth, faster and wake surfing with full ballast is a breeze. Thanks again!

Glad you like it! It's one of those things I wish I had done sooner.
