Medallion MDC 1600
Hey everyone I am new to the Moomba Forum. I have a question. My gauge panel is completely dead and I have done my research and believe that it is the medallion box MDC 1600 that has gone bad. The only problem is I can not find the box. I have a 2000 Moomba Outback LS and it is not under the dash near the firewall where most people have said it is located on their boat. I do believe that it was in a different place on the 2000 Moomba Outback. Does anyone know where it is located? Thank you in advance.

Engine Nut watches the forum. He may be able to help you locate where the MDC 1600 is mounted. Welcome to the forum!

Your boat has two speedometers controlled by the MDC 1600. The speedometers work by pressure from the line connected to the pitot tubes at the rear of the boat. The lines from the tubes connect directly into the MDC 1600 controller. If you start at the pitot tubes at the rear of the boat and follow the lines (really, either one) forward they will ultimately connect to the MDC 1600. Good luck!

It is in the rear ski locker, behind the thin removable rear carpeted wall, starboard side. Mine was 2 Phillips screws down near the floor that held it in place. I'll see if I have a picture on the old phone, but it's been a while since I've had the LS.
