Yes, stock bag in the floor locker. The OBV is a very surfable boat. Doesn't take much to get a decent wave. I have surfed behind it with no ballast at all (goofy side).

    Simple enough.
Ever use a surf gate of any kind?
Obviously experience plays a part here I'm guessing.
(I'm also still working at reducing my personal mass from 215 lbs.)

I have a "suck gate" and a skate board ramp. Between the two I prefer the skate board ramp. However....I'm not a surfer who does 360's and misc tricks, so I really prefer the simplicity of just dealing with a ballast bag in a corner and up front.

I'm a goofy footer who prefers to surf on the regular side.

I'll tell ya - body weight plays a huge role. A year ago, I ended up with a bilateral pulmonary embolism and had to quit distance running. I ended up putting 50 lbs on my frame, and I do struggle keeping in the wave due to that extra weight. I need to drop down to 150 lbs again.

My board of preference is an Inland Surfer Blue Lake Carbon.

    - IBS (we have the 650#)
    - upgrade the rear sacs to either 750# or 900#.....we have the 900# and they fill the space completely
    - build or buy one of the surf/suck gates out there....they are truly essential to the best wave you can get
Did you upgrade your prop with the larger bags? I got 750's for the rear and an IBS for this season and was just curious if the stock prop is fine

Yes, I did upgrade the prop, the stock prop goes no where with all that weight.

I went with the Acme 1847 since I like to ski from time to time, but most others go with the 1433 which is probably the better option because my 1847 still isn't great with all that extra weight.

Not as of last year but will be going to the 1433 this year. 10.5 mph is all she would do and was working hard to be there.
